christmas quiche

The quiche is a staple for many this time of year. Nothing is better than opening your presents, only then to sit down and enjoy a well-made, tasty Christmas Quiche. There is some technique involved in making a quiche and this recipe will guide you through exactly how to do it.

Before we begin, a quiche does have some risk of not working out if made properly. For example, watery quiches are very common. Check out this article on how to fix a watery quiche to learn how to avoid this most common mistake.

Before digging into the recipe, let’s first understand the ingredients going into this Christmas quiche:

Pie Crust

You can definitely make your own pie crust for this quiche, but in the Christmas season there is so much going on. A 9-inch pie crust that is store bought for this recipe is all you need. Marie Callender’s Pie Crust is my favorite and one I love to use and bake with. I highly suggest it for this recipe.

Breakfast Sausage

Breakfast sausage is great for this quiche as it delivers a spice blend that compliments the season. Look for breakfast sausage with sage in the mix for a delicious and floral sausage that elevates any Christmas Quiche.

White Cheddar Cheese

The sharper the better in my opinion. A sharp white cheddar cheese cuts through the eggs in this quiche and gives a savory and tasty addition to this dish. It also blends well with the sausage to deliver a ton of flavor.

The obvious ingredient, eggs are the star of the show in a quiche. I love farm-fresh eggs but any will do.

Half and Half

Half and half is great for quiche due to the fat content and how it interacts with the eggs in baking. Definitely my go-to dairy product in a quiche recipe.

Draining the Grease Is So Important

I really want to highlight the step for draining the grease from the sausage in this recipe. You do not want all of that grease pooled into the quiche as it may cause it to be oily and bake unevenly. Additionally, it may leak out after cooking. Draining the sausage thoroughly is the best way to have this recipe turn out as desired.

Your Next Christmas Quiche

This simple breakfast sausage Quiche is the perfect breakfast on a cold, Christmas day. It is hearty, and easy to make and the sausage specifically compliments the holiday season. Be sure to use this recipe for an easy and filling breakfast for your family on Christmas Day.
