There are not many frozen alcoholic drinks that top the Frozen Pomegranate Margarita. The fairly tart, sweet, and delicious drink is known for both its flavor and wonderful color. Pomegranate steals the show in this frozen beverage. If you want to know more about what a pomegranate tastes like, check out this article.

The Frozen Pomegranate Margarita Ingredients
The key ingredients in any margarita are tequila, a tart fruit juice, and triple sec or orange liquor. The key to a frozen margarita is to blend it with ice or a frozen product to create a smooth, chilled beverage that can be enjoyed. Let’s first get into the ingredients for our margarita, and then I will break down how to make it.
Tequila
Tequila is the base alcohol in a margarita and choosing one with high integrity of flavor will yield better results in your margarita. Espolon and Casamigos are two brands we are a huge fan of. They offer great taste and a smooth drinking experience.
Cointreau
Cointreau is an orange-flavored liquor known as a triple sec. This liquor is essential in the flavor of a margarita, offering a slight bitter off-balance that contrasts against the sweetness in the drink. This liquor can be found at most liquor stores in your area.
Pomegranate Juice
Pomegranate Juice is easy enough to come by in most large grocery stores. You cannot really go wrong with the brand, and this relatively common juice should be easily accessible when gathering ingredients for this recipe.
Fresh Lime Juice
A hit of acid in the drink will add yet another dimension and allow the flavors of pomegranate and tequila to shine through. Freshly squeezed lime juice is ideal, but store-bought bottles with suffice as well.
Blue Agave Syrup
A sweet nectar from the agave plant, this syrup will add a touch of sweetness that balances out the bitter and acidic notes of the other ingredients within the drink. I choose blue agave due to this is the same type of agave that tequila is made from.
Ice
The final ingredient that will blend all of this together.
Adding A Layer To The Drink
In a previous article we wrote, we described exactly how to make pomegranate preserves. This sweet and craveable preserve would make an excellent addition to this cocktail. The flavor parity is also extremely relevant. That being said, if you are looking to add another layer, remove an oz of agave and add an oz of the preserves to elevate this drink even further.
Final Words: Serving
It cannot be stressed how important it is to serve this drink in a chilled glass. The Frozen Pomegranate Margarita tastes best right out of the blender, when it is crisp and fresh. Making the mistake of adding to a warm glass will take away from the experience and overall flavor.
I recommend chilling your glasses in the freezer for up to 1 hour before serving. This will allow the glass to cool down to the proper temperature so that when you are ready to serve the Margarita it is at its optimal state for drinking enjoyment. Cheers!
